St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish will hold a transitus services on October 3 to commemorate the passage of St. Francis of Assisi from earthly life to eternal life. St. Francis died on the evening of October 3, 1226, and it has long been a tradition for Franciscans to gather on that evening to commemorate his "transitus" or "passing over." The service is sponsored by the Holy Family Franciscan Fraternity.
In commemoration of the passing of Saint Francis from earthly life to eternal life, Prince of Peace Parish will hold a Transitus service led by Bishop James Ruggieri at 6 p.m. at the Basilica of Ss. Peter & Paul, 122 Ash Street in Lewiston.
St. Brendan the Navigator Parish will hold a Transitus service on Tuesday, October 3, to commemorate the passage of St. Francis of Assisi from earthly life to eternal life. St. Francis died on the evening of October 3, 1226.
The Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish 51st annual Harvest Supper will be held Thursday, October 12, at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Route 2 in South Lincoln.
