Worldwide Marriage Encounter

A Weekend of Discovery… A Lifetime of Love

For more information and a schedule:

Worldwide Marriage Encounter (WWME), a program that has helped countless couples connect in heathy ways and deepen their intimacy, will be available for all Maine couples in the comfort of their own homes starting in September.

The enrichment experience will be offered via Zoom on Monday evenings from September 14 to October 26. The seven sessions will each run from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The virtual encounter is entitled “Restore, Rekindle, Renew.” Couples will explore their individual personality styles, improve listening and communication skills, understand God’s plan for their marriage, and learn how to keep their relationship a priority. All sharing between spouses is private, and the experience aims to help couples in good marriages communicate even better.

Registration is limited and a $50 application fee is required. For more information or to apply, visit

Worldwide Marriage Encounter is considered the first marriage enrichment program offered to married couples. The story of WWME began in 1952 when a young priest in Spain, Fr. Gabriel Calvo, began developing a series of conferences for married couples to encourage open and honest relationships within marriage and the living out of a sacramental relationship in the service of others. By the summer of 1968, 50 couples and 29 priests were presenting weekends in the United States. Today, WWME weekends are offered in numerous languages and dialects in nearly 100 countries.
