Pre-Kindergarten Teaching Assistant

Saint Dominic Academy is seeking a qualified pre-kindergarten teaching assistant to join our faculty for the 2024-2025 school year

Required:

• Early Childhood Education experience

• High school diploma

• Experience working under supervision primarily with school age children in a licensed center, public or private school.

• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education preferred but not required

Hours: Full time -Monday through Friday

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assists with the activities of the classroom in a variety of activities to develop social, emotional, spiritual and academic skills.

Provide direct care and supervision of children in the classroom and during all school hours.

• Demonstrate an awareness of the daily classroom schedule and specific assignments and assist other staff when the need is present.

• Demonstrate an understanding of basic learning philosophies and expectations in the classroom.

• Promote a positive, nurturing environment for young children.

• Facilitate child involvement in play and classroom activities.

• Assist student with behavior management needs.

• Work cooperatively with other staff to promote open communication and teamwork.
