Ecumenical & Interfaith Affairs
The Office for Ecumenical and Interfaith Affairs is charged with fostering relationships with other Christian churches and communities, and with non-Christian religions according to the 1993 Ecumenical Directory and the Second Vatican Council’s Decree on Ecumenism and Declaration on Non-Christian Religions.
The Office also assists parishes in fostering ecumenical and inter-religious activities at the local level. At times, the Director of Ecumenical and Interfaith Affairs represents the Bishop of Portland at gatherings and conferences which bring together believers of various Christian denominations and other world religions.
