The Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland, Maine, is seeking a committed, active Catholic to serve as the Director of Lifelong Faith Formation. This diocesan level position is responsible for oversight of all catechetical ministry to every age group throughout the Diocese. The Director initiates, develops and facilitates various programs and services that communicate the vision of lifelong faith formation.

The Director provides regular support and development opportunities to pastors and their parish faith formation staffs in carrying out their responsibilities, especially in meeting the needs of parishioners in the areas of catechetics, youth and young adult ministry, adult faith formation, and sacramental preparation including Christian initiation, marriage and family life. The Director must have knowledge of and be committed to the vision of all the major Church documents relating to evangelization and lifelong faith formation. This position supervises 3 full-time staff members.

The successful candidate for this position will be a Catholic in good standing who has an MA in Theology, Pastoral Ministry, Religious Education/Catechetics or related field preferred, BA required, with a minimum of 5 years of full-time experience in faith formation and/or youth and young adult ministry at the parish and diocesan levels.
