Father Frank Murray will lead an Advent retreat on Thursday, December 5, at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 8 Free Street in Machias.

Parishioners are invited to bring their Baby Jesus figurines to Mass at the churches of St. Peter the Fisherman Parish to have them blessed.

The Heart of St. Francis fraternity is sponsoring a blessing of the crèche at all Masses on the first weekend of Advent, November 30 & December 1, at St. Agnes Church in Island Falls and St. Mary of the Visitation Church in Houlton.

Following the 5 p.m. Mass on Saturday, December 9, all are invited to gather outside St. Bartholomew Church for the blessing and lighting of the outdoor Christmas tree.

The annual Holy Cross School Christmas Fair and Lobster Lunch will be held December 6 & 7 at the school, located at 436 Broadway in South Portland.

The children of St. John Paul II Parish will present a Nativity play on Sunday, December 22, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church in Scarborough. All are welcome to attend.
