A prayer for those seeking forgiveness and spiritual healing after an abortion
From the fear of being unloved
R: I renounce it in Your Name, Jesus.
From the lie that tells me that I cannot be forgiven
R: I renounce it in Your Name, Jesus.
From the callousness in my heart that keeps me from acknowledging and tending to my wounds
R: I renounce it in Your Name, Jesus.
From despair which paralyzes me
R: I renounce it in Your Name, Jesus.
From anger towards myself and others which sometimes seems overwhelming
R: I renounce it in Your Name, Jesus.
From guilt and shame that haunt me because of the abortion
R: I renounce it in Your Name, Jesus.
From the belief that my child must be mad at me
R: I renounce it in Your Name, Jesus.
From the belief that I am too broken to be healed and transformed
R: I renounce it in Your Name, Jesus.
From the temptation to call myself names or belittle myself
R: I renounce it in Your Name, Jesus.
From anything that keeps me from moving forward on this healing journey
R: I renounce it in Your Name, Jesus.
That I may know and believe that I am always loved by God
R: I pray for the grace to receive and embrace it.
That I may embrace forgiveness and live differently as a result
R: I pray for the grace to receive and embrace it.
That my heart may remain malleable and that I let the Divine Physician look at and care for my wounds
R: I pray for the grace to receive and embrace it.
That a joy and peace that surpasses all understanding may fill me
R: I pray for the grace to receive and embrace it.
That my anger will subside and that in God’s time I will learn to forgive myself and others
R: I pray for the grace to receive and embrace it.
For the courage to not let guilt and shame shape my identity
R: I pray for the grace to receive and embrace it.
With the knowledge that my child harbors no resentment towards me, and that they love and forgive me
R: I pray for the grace to receive and embrace it.
That my healing may be a testament to God’s love and mercy
R: I pray for the grace to receive and embrace it.
May I delight in my true identity as a freed, forgiven, and loved child of God
R: I pray for the grace to receive and embrace it.
That I may continue to move forward with hope and anticipation of the day when I will be greeted joyfully by my child in heaven
R: I pray for the grace to receive and embrace it.
Amen!
