Bishop Deeley's Holy Week schedule announced

Holy Week, the most solemn week of the entire year, will begin with Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord (March 24) and culminate with the Easter Triduum, during which Catholics commemorate the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday (March 28), the Passion and death of Christ on Good Friday (March 29), and the resurrection of the Lord at the Easter Vigil (March 30) and on Easter Sunday (March 31).

During Holy Week, clergy, religious, and faithful of the Diocese of Portland also gather for the Chrism Mass, during which the priests of the diocese renew their promises, and the bishop consecrates and blesses oils that will be used in sacraments during the coming year.
