Blue Christmas Service - Portland

Our Lady of Hope Parish will hold its annual “Blue Christmas” service on Wednesday, December 18,  at 7:00 p.m. at St. Pius X Church, 492 Ocean Avenue.

The service of prayers, songs, and readings acknowledges that the overall joyousness of the season can be difficult for people who have lost loved ones or are facing other challenges. While there are no quick fixes, together we can hear words of hope and inclusion and acknowledge the season in a “minor key.” We can reflect on the ancient wisdom that “it is often in these places of greatest suffering that God’s Spirit is most powerfully present.”  All are  welcome to this quite service of prayer, reflection, and song.
