Bring your children (ages 0-5) to a morning of music, joy, and faith, as participants sing, dance, and prepare for the birth of Jesus.

The children of St. John Paul II Parish will present a Nativity play on Sunday, December 22, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church in Scarborough. All are welcome to attend.

Vespers will be prayed on the Sundays of Advent (December 1, 8, 15, & 22) at 5 p.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 150 Black Point Road in Scarborough.

The children of Prince of Peace Parish will put on a Christmas pageant prior to the 4 p.m. Christmas Eve Mass at Holy Family Church, 607 Sabattus Street in Lewiston.

The children of St. Mary of the Visitation Parish in Houlton and St. Agnes Parish in Island Falls will present a Christmas pageant prior to the 4 p.m. Christmas Eve Mass at St. Mary of the Visitation Church.

A children's Christmas pageant  will precede Christmas Eve Mass at Holy Trinity Church in Lisbon Falls.

Children will perform a Christmas pageant during the 4 p.m. Christmas Eve Mass at St. Louis Church in Fort Kent.

Our Lady of the Valley Parish will hold a Children’s Mass Play on Christmas Eve at 4 p.m. at St. Luce Church in Frenchville. Children in grades pre-K to 12 will be participating in the Mass and the Nativity play as Mary, Joseph, angels, shepherds, the Magi, choir members, altar servers, readers, ushers, and more.

Children will put on a Christmas pageant at 4 p.m. on December 24, prior to the Christmas Mass at St. Teresa Church, 425 South Main Street in Brewer.

The children of St. Matthew Parish will be performing a Christmas pageant and the children’s choir will sing on Christmas Eve at St. Matthew Church in Limerick. The children’s choir will begin singing at 5:50 p.m. for a prelude. The pageant is at 6 p.m. with Mass to follow immediately after.

Join All Saints Parish for 15 minutes of singing traditional carols at the Gazebo on the Brunswick Mall on Christmas Eve, Tuesday, December 24, 7:30 p.m. This is a family-friendly event. You bring a flashlight, and we’ll provide the words. A donor from All Saints Parish will donate $2 to Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program for every person who comes to sing. 

On December 25, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Nativity of the Lord. Christmas is one of the most important days of the Church year, second only to Easter itself. During the Christmas season, we celebrate the birth of Christ. It is the feast of the Incarnation, the feast of God becoming flesh. The Christmas season is a time to reflect on the gift of salvation that is born with him, including the fact that Christ was born to die for us.

Bishop James Ruggieri will celebrate midnight Mass at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Portland.

The Parish of the Holy Savior extends a special invitation to the River Valley community to attend its annual Community Christmas Dinner on Christmas Day.

The Office of Vocations will host a retreat on Saturday, December 28, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at St. Joseph Church in Brewer, Maine. This retreat is for young men 18+ who want to learn about priestly discernment. 

A jubilee year happens every 25 years in the Catholic Church. Bishop Ruggieri will celebrate an opening Mass at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception at 10 a.m.

Prince of Peace Parish is offering divorce ministry for men and women who have suffered from divorce. The 12-week program will begin Tuesday, January 7. and be held weekly from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Holy Family Church, 607 Sabattus Street in Lewiston

Join Father Jack Dickinson and Michelle Valcourt, faith formation director of St. John Paul II Parish, as they explore the meaning of the Jubilee Year "Pilgrims of Hope" and how to celebrate it.

Please join in praying for the sanctity of life during a Prayer Service for Life on Sunday, January 26, from 2 pm to 4 pm, at Holy Martyrs of North America Church, 266 Foreside Road in Falmouth.  

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a period of spiritual renewal which helps us prepare for the celebration of the paschal mystery of Christ, his Passion, death and resurrection.
