Bishop Joseph Gerry, OSB, the Tenth Bishop of Portland, died on Sunday, July 2, at the age of 94.  Funeral services are as follows:

All are invited to join in the celebration of the one-year anniversary of Choir Notre Dame de la Paix. The choir, made up of immigrants from African nations, sings hymns in three languages: Kirundi, Kinyarwanda, and French.

The 30th Summer Recital Series on Maine’s largest 19th-Century mechanical-action pipe organ, E. & G. G. Hook’s magnificent Opus 288, at St. John Church on 207 York Street in Bangor, will begin on July 27 and the complete schedule has now been announced.

The gathering, which will run from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., will begin with Mass followed by a social and refreshments, a talk by a Sister of Life, and the exposition, adoration, and benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.
