On Christmas, the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Nativity of the Lord, the birth of Christ. It is one of the most important days of the Church year, second only to Easter itself.
The 7th Midcoast Tree Festival will be held at the St. John’s Community Center, 43 Pleasant Street in Brunswick, over two weekends this November.
St. Anthony of Padua Parish will hold a Christmas Fair on November 1, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., bringing together the gifts and talents of parishioners from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Windham and St. Hyacinth Church in Westbrook.
The Christmas fair at St. Charles Borromeo Church, part of All Saints Parish, will be held Saturday, November 15, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the church hall at 132 McKeen Street in Brunswick.
All are welcome to gather for sung vespers for the dead, an ancient evening of prayer consisting of chanted psalms, antiphons, and hymns.
