St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish will present the Festival of Lessons & Carols, an Advent tradition that dates back to the late 19th century. The Festival of Lessons & Carols tells the story of salvation through nine Scripture readings or lessons, which are accompanied by Christmas carols or hymns and times of prayer.

A Day of Prayer & Discernment for men over 18 years of age who are discerning a possible vocation to the diocesan priesthood will be held Saturday, December 30, 2023, 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at St. John the Baptist Church and St. John’s Community Center, 39-43 Pleasant Street in Brunswick. The day is an opportunity for discerners to pray together, get to know each other, meet diocesan priests, and spend time with the Lord. Children with present a Nativity pageant prior to the Christmas Eve Mass at St. Mary of the Visitation Church, 110 Military Street in Houlton.
St. Peter the Fisherman Parish will celebrate the Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe with a potluck luncheon following the 10:30 a.m. Mass at St. Michael Church in Cherryfield. During the reception, a parishioners will be able to take part in a raffle to take home a painting of Our Lady of Guadalupe to be displayed in their home until next year's celebration of the feast day.
