In celebration of the Feast Day of Saint Francis of Assisi, Our Lady of Hope Parish will hold a Blessing of the Animals prayer service on October 5, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., outside St. Pius X Church, 492 Ocean Avenue in Portland.
Catechetical Sunday, which is celebrated on the third Sunday in September, (September 15, 2024) was established to recognize and celebrate the gift that catechists bring to a parish community. It also provides us an opportunity to reflect on the role that each person plays, by virtue of baptism, in handing on the faith and being a witness to the Gospel.

St. John Vianney Parish in Fort Kent invites parishioners to participate in World/National Cleanup Day on Saturday, September 21. People are asked to gather at 9 a.m. in the parking lot of St. Louis Church, 26 East Main Street in Fort Kent, and then spread throughout the community to pick up trash. The parish will provide trash bags and gloves.
