The Portland Peninsula & Island Parishes will hold Advent wreath making and other Advent activities in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception's Guild Hall on the first Sunday of Advent from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. All are invited to join in!

St. Anthony of Padua Parish invites women to be part of a special evening focused on the true meaning of the blessed season of Advent, as we prepare our hearts for Jesus’ birth.

A jubilee year happens every 25 years in the Catholic Church. Bishop Ruggieri will celebrate an opening Mass at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception at 10 a.m.

Bishop Ruggieri will preside at the installation of Father Robert Lupo as pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish at 6 p.m.

Bishop Ruggieri will celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception at 12:15 p.m. at the Cathedral.

Embracing a tradition that dates to 19th century England, the Portland Peninsula & Island Parishes will present Advent Lessons & Carols on Friday, December 13, at 7 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 307 Congress Street in Portland. Bishop James Ruggieri will preside.

Stella Maris Parish will host an Encounter Night of Adoration, Praise, and Worship on Friday, November 22, at 6 p.m., at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 64 Franklin Street in Bucksport.

Children will put on a Christmas pageant at 4 p.m. on December 24, prior to the Christmas Mass at St. Teresa Church, 425 South Main Street in Brewer.
