Mass of Ordination of Bishop James Ruggieri
Bishop James Thomas Ruggieri was ordained and installed as the 13th Bishop of Portland on May 7, 2024, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Portland. The principal celebrant for the Mass was Cardinal Seán O'Malley, OFM Cap, Archbishop of Boston.
On the evening before the ordination, solemn vespers, an opportunity to pray for and with Bishop Ruggieri, was held at St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish in Scarborough, with Bishop Robert Deeley, the 12th Bishop of Portland, presiding.
