Parish mission to explore living as Catholics in challenging times
How do we embrace our faith and live as Christ calls us to do in these challenging times? That will be the topic explored by Dr. Ralph Martin, president of Renewal Ministries, during a fall mission that will be hosted by St. John Paul II Parish in Scarborough.
The two-day spiritual gathering will be held at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 150 Black Point Road in Scarborough, on October 27 and 28. Dr. Martin will present “Living as Catholics in Challenging Times” on Friday, October 27, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. That will be followed by “Growing in Holiness” on Saturday, October 28, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., and then “Growing in Mission” from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The mission is free and open to the public.
Dr. Martin is a widely respected figure in Catholic evangelization and spiritual renewal. He hosts the weekly Catholic television program The Choices We Face and is also the author of A Church in Crisis: Pathways Forward and The Fulfillment of All Desire: A Guidebook for the Journey to God, Based on the Wisdom of the Saints. Dr. Martin holds a doctorate in theology and is the director of Graduate Theology Programs in the New Evangelization at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in the Archdiocese of Detroit.
