St. Joseph's Icon Pilgrim Prayer Service - Calais

A St. Joseph’s Icon Pilgrim prayer service will be held September 18, 2023, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.. at Immaculate Conception Church, 31 Calais Avenue in Calais.

The icon of St. Joseph was brought to St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish by the Knights of Columbus. Every few years, the Knights select an icon of a saint whose patronage is particularly inspiring to them and their communities. One of several icons then are taken from council to council to serve as centerpieces of prayer services. It is hoped the service will lead to greater devotion to St. Joseph and that Joseph’s intercession will lead to greater courage to stand up to protect, defend, and raise future generations.

Since the first traveling pilgrim icon of Our Lady of Guadalupe in 1979, more than 174,800 council and parish prayer services with some 22 million participants have been held.
