Sister Nesta Beaudoin, OSU
Please pray for the repose of the soul of Sister Nesta Beaudoin (Sister Marie Immaculata), a member of the Ursuline Sisters of the RomanUnion, who died December 26, 2015, at the age of 88. Sister Nesta spent 67 years as a religious devoted to education at both the elementary and secondary school levels. She taught in Brunswick and Waterville, Maine, and in Dedham and Springfield, Massachusetts.
Sister Nesta was born on June 20, 1927, in Sanford and attended St. Ignatius School and then St. Ignatius High School. She entered the Ursuline Sisters in July 1945 and made her novitiate at the International Novitiate in Beaugency, France. Making her first vows in March 1948, she then earned a bachelor’s degree at the College of New Rochelle, in New Rochelle, New York, and later earned master’s degrees from the School of Commerce in Auburn, Maine, and from Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
After her teaching career, she served the Ursuline community in Waterville as treasurer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday January 4, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the Ursuline Community Chapel, 1 Saint Angela Way, Waterville, with burial immediately following in the Ursuline Cemetery.
