Sister Marie Immaculata Vane, DW

The Daughters of Wisdom are saddened to report the passing of Sister Marie Immaculata Vane, DW, age 92 who passed away on April 22, 2018.

A native of Jamaica, New York, Sister Marie Immaculata earned a degree in elementary education from St. Joseph’s College of Maine in Standish and her advanced degree from Catholic University in Washington, D.C., in education and psychology.

Sr. Marie Immaculata Vane spent 56 years in education, both as a teacher and an administrator, including several years spent teaching in Madawaska.

At retirement, Sister Marie was still active, participating in the monthly gathering of Wisdom Circle with her community of sisters and associates, and she was occasionally called upon to translate French. Beyond that, she was able to do something she had long looked forward to, and that was to be able just to pray.

Sister Marie will be greatly missed by her loving family, sisters, associates and Wisdom Circle friends. She was buried at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Coram, N.Y.

May her soul and the soul of all the faithful departed rest in peace.  Amen
