Sister Mary Peter Bachand, O.S.U.

Your prayers are requested for the repose of the soul of Sister Mary Peter Bachand, a member of the Ursuline Sisters of the Roman Union, who passed away Wednesday, March 24, at the age of 94.   Sister Mary Peter was born in Sanford in 1925, the daughter of Louis and Eugenie (Harton) Bachand. She attended St. Ignatius School in Sanford.  Sister spent her life in service to her religious community.  She enjoyed doing little favors for her fellow sisters and could fix a car as well as the best mechanic.  She remained active until the last few months of her life, telling the nurse the day before she died: “Tomorrow, I will be dancing with the angels in heaven.”  May the Lord welcome her into his eternal presence.
