Upcoming runs to benefit Catholic education in York County
BIDDEFORD/SANFORD---Time to lace up your sneakers! St. James School in Biddeford and St. Thomas School in Sanford both plan fundraising runs the first weekend of November.
St. James School, located at 25 Graham Street in Biddeford, will hold the Trot for Catholic Education 5K Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run on Saturday, November 4. People are invited to run or walk in person or to participate virtually to support educational opportunities at the school. The 5K race will begin at 9 a.m. and costs $25 to enter. St. Thomas School in Sanford will look ahead to the Christmas season with its Mingle Jingle Run and crafts and vendor fair on Sunday, November 5. The 5K race will start at 9 a.m. at the Memorial Gym, 678 Main Street in Sanford. It will feature a route that is fast, flat, and scenic. The cost is $30 to enter. Both the Trot for Catholic Education and the Mingle Jingle Run are important fundraisers for the schools. In 2022, more than $22,000 was raised for St. James School and another $16,000 for St. Thomas School.
