Knights of Columbus in Bangor to Present $2,500 Check to All Saints Robotics Team

BANGOR---A spaghetti dinner hosted by the Knights of Columbus last weekend will benefit the successful robotics team at All Saints Catholic School in Bangor. With over 200 attendees, the dinner raised around $2,500.

The Knights will present a check for $2,500 to the robotics team during a pep rally on Friday, October 28, at 2 p.m. at the school’s St. John Campus (166 State Street).

Since its inception over five years ago, the robotics team has quickly emerged as one of the best in the state. The program now has outstanding equipment, a robotics lab, and an overflowing trophy case with awards for achievements such as engineering design.

“It’s overwhelming to see the commitment of the students, staff, and parents to help this program grow,” said Matthew Houghton, principal of All Saints. “It has been inspiring.”

The development and success of the program can also be attributed to the support of the Knights.

“Last year, our robotics program was largely funded by the St. Paul the Apostle Knights of Columbus,” said Casey Murphy, director of technology at All Saints. “Due to the pandemic, we weren’t able to fundraise in the traditional ways like concessions, hosting tournaments, and things like that. We are very grateful to the Knights for their support.”
