Director of Planned Giving

The Director of Planned Giving will play a crucial role in cultivating and stewarding relationships with donors who are interested in leaving a legacy through planned gifts. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of The Catholic Foundation of Maine, the Director of Planned Giving will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding planned giving prospects to secure bequests, charitable trusts, life insurance gifts, and other planned gifts in support of our organization's mission.
A planned gift is any major gift made in lifetime or at death as part of a donor’s overall financial or estate planning. These include gifts of equity, life insurance, real estate, personal property, or cash and may be applied to, or used to establish, an endowment or donor advised fund at The Catholic Foundation of Maine.
Successful candidates will have Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced degree or certification in planned giving, fundraising, or a related field preferred; a minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, planned giving, estate planning or related field with a proven track record of securing gifts; have a strong knowledge of tax laws, estate planning techniques and financial planning principals related to charitable giving and must be an active practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.
