Thanksgiving Meals 2025
Some parishes in the diocese are offering free community meals on Thanksgiving to which all are invited. You will find a listing below.
Many parishes also assemble Thanksgiving baskets for community members in need. If you wish to participate as a donor or recipient, please contact your parish.
Most Holy Trinity Church, Saco
The 26th Annual Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held on Thursday, November 27, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Most Holy Trinity Church Hall, 271 Main Street in Saco.
The meal will include all the fixings for a turkey dinner, along with dessert and beverages. Dinners may be eaten in the hall or picked up to take home. Delivery orders in the local area are also available but must be placed in advance. They will be delivered on Thanksgiving between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Menus are available by calling Dave McDonald at 207-468-7324 until Monday, November 24, at 4 p.m.
There is no charge for the dinner, and all are welcome. Anyone wishing to make a donation towards the dinner may send it to Knights of Columbus, PO Box 1487, Biddeford, ME 04005. Checks can be made out Knights of Columbus with a note for Turkey Dinner on the memo line. Parish of the Holy Savior, Mexico
A post-Thanksgiving community meal will be served in the Holy Savior Parish Hall, 126 Maine Avenue in Rumford, on Friday, November 28, at 4:30 p.m. Turkey, stuffing, and vegetables will be provided. Parishioners are asked to bring side dishes such as rolls, cranberry sauce, squash, potatoes, etc., along with desserts. Please call the parish office at 207-364-4556 if you are bringing an item. The meal is free, but there will be an option to make a donation to the Good Samaritan Soup Kitchen.
St. Catherine of Sienna Church, Norway
St. Catherine of Sienna Church, 32 Paris Street in Norway, will host a free community Thanksgiving dinner for Oxford Hills residents on Thursday, November 27, at noon.
The traditional turkey dinner will be served in the parish center for anyone who wants to share a meal with friends and neighbors. If you need a meal delivered or know someone who does, please call the parish at 207-743-2606. To reserve a spot and help with preparation, the parish also asks that you call if you know you’re planning to attend.
St. Mary of the Visitation Church, Houlton
St. Mary of the Visitation Parish's annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner will be held on Thursday, November 27, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A free turkey dinner with all the fixings will be served in St. Anthony's Hall, located at 110 Military Street in Houlton, and will also be available for take out. All are welcome.
