Many parishes around the Diocese of Portland have Masses scheduled for Thanksgiving, which is on November 27, 2025, or for the evening before.

Bishop James Ruggieri will celebrate Mass on Thanksgiving Day at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Portland.

The 26th Annual Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held on Thursday, November 27, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Most Holy Trinity Church Hall, 271 Main Street in Saco.

A potluck dinner will be held on Thanksgiving Day, noon to 2 p.m., in the hall of St. Joseph Church, 231 Main Street in Ellsworth.

St. Catherine of Sienna Church, 32 Paris Street in Norway, will host a free community Thanksgiving dinner for Oxford Hills residents on Thursday, November 27, at noon.

The 7th Midcoast Tree Festival will be held at the St. John’s Community Center, 43 Pleasant Street in Brunswick, over two weekends this November.

A post-Thanksgiving community meal will be served in the Holy Savior Parish Hall, 126 Maine Avenue in Rumford, on Friday, November 28, at 4:30 p.m.

The Queen of the Angels Catholic Parishes of Acadia will hold an Advent Retreat on Saturday, November 29, 9 a.m. to noon at Holy Redeemer Church in Bar Harbor.

St. Matthew Church, 19 Dora Lane in Limerick, will host a Holiday Craft Fair on Friday, November 29, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Daughters of St. Bernard are sponsoring Advent wreath making on Sunday, November 30, following the 8 a.m. Mass at St. Bernard Church, 150 Broadway in Rockland and the breakfast by the Knights of Columbus.

Following the 8 a.m. Mass on Sunday, November 30, join Deacon Paul Lissandrello for an Advent reflection followed by Advent wreath making for families.

During the season of Advent, all are invited to attend a Waiting for the Lord Advent program and solemn vespers, which will include an hour of adoration with exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, prayers, psalms, songs, and an Advent reflection, followed by quiet time and the opportunity for the sacrament of reconciliation.

On Wednesday, December 10, Holy Spirit Parish will hold a Candlelight Holiday Memorial Service in the sanctuary of St. Martha Church, 30 Portland Road in Kennebunk.
