Bishop Ruggieri will celebrate a Memorial Mass for the Most Reverend David William Bacon, the first Bishop of Portland on November 3rd at 6:00 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Bishop Ruggieri will also bless the new tomb for Bishop Bacon at the beginning of the Mass.
St. John Paul II Parish will hold a Trunk or Treat event on Sunday, October 26, at 6 p.m. at Holy Cross School, 436 Broadway in South Portland. Bring treats, decorate your trunk, and welcome children!
Bishop Ruggieri will preside as Fr. Brad Morin is installed as pastor of the Parish of the Resurrection of the Lord in Old Town.
In commemoration of All Souls’ Day, which the Catholic Church celebrates on November 2, and in recognition that every human person was created and is loved by God, Bishop James Ruggieri will preside over the rite of final commendation and committal of unclaimed remains a Calvary Cemetery in South Portland on Friday, October 31, at 10 a.m.
All are invited to a Mass and reception celebrating the 375th anniversary of the founding of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Lyon. Founded in Le Puy-en-Velay, France, in 1650, members of the congregation have served in Maine since 1906.
