A Public Square Rosary will be held on September 14 at noon in the yard of Holy Redeemer Church, 56 Mount Desert Street in Bar Harbor. All are welcome to join in prayer.

In celebration of the Feast Day of Saint Francis of Assisi, Our Lady of Hope Parish will hold a Blessing of the Animals prayer service on October 5, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., outside St. Pius X Church, 492 Ocean Avenue in Portland.

Sacred Heart Church of the Parish of the Precious Blood will hold its annual Labor Day Harvest Mass on Monday, September 2, at 5 p.m. in the new Bouchard Farms potato storage facility on Van Buren Road in North Caribou.

Catechetical Sunday, which is celebrated on the third Sunday in September, (September 15, 2024) was established to recognize and celebrate the gift that catechists bring to a parish community. It also provides us an opportunity to reflect on the role that each person plays, by virtue of baptism, in handing on the faith and being a witness to the Gospel.

What are our creeds? Where do they come from? Why do we use them? What is their place in the liturgy? What do their words mean?  

St. John Vianney Parish in Fort Kent invites parishioners to participate in World/National Cleanup Day on Saturday, September 21. People are asked to gather at 9 a.m. in the parking lot of St. Louis Church, 26 East Main Street in Fort Kent, and then spread throughout the community to pick up trash. The parish will provide trash bags and gloves.

Fr. Anthoy Lawir will be officially installed by Bishop Ruggieri as pastor of Our Lady of the Snows Parish and St. Agnes Parish. 

Fr. Philip Clement will be formally installed by Bishop Ruggieri as the pastor of the Parish of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Bar Harbor, St. Joseph Parish in Ellsworth, and Stella Maris Parish in Bucksport.

Bishop Ruggieri will celebrate Mass at St. Michael Church in Cherryfield.
