Lay Chaplain

There is an immediate opening for a full-time (40 hours per week) lay chaplain to serve at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford. The Lay Hospital Chaplain provides pastoral care to Catholic patients and their families as supervised by the Director of Ministerial Services (Chancery) in cooperation with the Spiritual/Pastoral Care Department.

This position will collaborate and communicate with the pastors and parochial vicars of the parishes located in the Biddeford-Saco and Sanford areas. Successful candidates must be practicing Catholics in good standing with the Church, have completed at least 1 Unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or be willing to take 1 Unit paid for by the Diocese, have experience working in an institutional setting and possess the ability to work collaboratively. Prior experience in a hospital and/or pastoral setting is preferred.
