Saint Dominic Academy reaches $100,000 campaign goal

St. Dominic Academy announces this week that it has successfully reached its Dion Impact Scholarship Match campaign goal of $100,000 thanks to the support of the community and donors.  Reaching this goal unlocks $100,000 in matching gifts from Donald Dion ’72 and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland.

Access to education at St. Dominic Academy is a powerful tool for transforming lives, but many students face financial barriers that prevent them from attending. The Dion Impact Scholarship Match was created to break down those barriers and give students access to a quality education at St. Dom’s through life-changing educational scholarships.

“I am proud to be part of the Impact Scholarship Campaign at St. Dom's. The support from our alumni, the school community, and the Portland diocese has been inspiring,” Don Dion ’72 said. “This campaign will open doors for future scholarship recipients, creating a world of opportunities for many students. Over the next four years, this campaign will bring in $1,200,000 for St. Dom’s in scholarships for families. Together, we are shaping a brighter future.”

“As Chair of the Saint Dominic Academy's school board, I am deeply moved by the resounding success of our Impact Scholarship Campaign. The generous contributions from our alumni, the steadfast support of our school community, and the invaluable partnership with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland and Don Dion ’72 have propelled us toward our shared vision of accessibility and excellence in education,” Kathy Pleau Martin ’98, who will become the Saint Dominic Academy Auburn campus principal in the fall, said.

“This initiative is not merely about raising funds; it's about opening doors of opportunity for deserving students.  Over the next four years, our commitment to scholarships will shape a future where financial barriers do not hinder access to a St. Dom's education. Together, we are champions of inclusivity and empowerment, ensuring that every student can reach their full potential,” Martin continued.
