St. Michael Parish Plans Celebration for the Month of the Holy Rosary
Start brushing up on your knowledge of the Blessed Mother. To mark the beginning of the Month of the Holy Rosary, St. Michael Parish will present a faith-filled afternoon of Marian trivia on Sunday, October 1, at 2 p.m. in the gymnasium of St. Michael School, 56 Sewall Street in Augusta. Weather permitting, there will also be an outdoor Living Rosary.
October is designated as the Month of the Holy Rosary because the Catholic Church celebrates the Feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary on October 7, and it was on October 13, 1917, that Mary appeared to the shepherd children in Fatima for the final time. It was during the last apparition that Mary revealed her name, telling Lucia, "I am the Lady of the Rosary." During the apparitions, Mary urged the children to "say the Rosary every day to bring peace to the world."
