Bishop Deeley visits St. Dom's campuses in February

In February, Bishop Robert Deeley met with hundreds of Saint Dominic Academy pre-K through 12th grade students, teachers and staff at the Lewiston and Auburn campuses.

At the Auburn campus on February 12, Bishop Deeley met with students, teachers and staff including assistant chaplains, taking part in a middle school writing class, high school theology, French and health classes.

At the Lewiston campus on February 28, Bishop Deeley answered thoughtful questions from the students ranging from “why do you want to be bishop,” to “are you excited to be retiring?’ Bishop Deeley even played bingo with the kindergarten classes. Bishop Deeley led conversations with students about the Lenten season and shared his favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:15, “Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Christ Himself, who is the head.”

It was a great opportunity for the Saint Dominic Academy community to talk with Bishop Deeley and show how they are fostering an energetic learning community.

Saint Dominic Academy is a Catholic co-educational, college preparatory day school under the patronage of the Diocese of Portland for students in grades pre-K to 12. Saint Dominic Academy serves nearly 475 students with just over 200 pre-K through fifth grade students at the Lewiston campus and 265 sixth through 12th grade students in Auburn.
