Coordinator of Mission and Ministry for Catholic Education

The Diocese of Portland has and immediate opening for the Coordinator for Mission and Ministry of Catholic Education.  The new position guides the efforts of Catholic Schools, homeschooling initiatives, and teacher recruitment and formation to serve the mission of the Church faithfully: to proclaim the Gospel, to bring people to Jesus Christ, and to build the Reign of God.  

Specific areas of responsibility include collaborating with Maine Catholic homeschooling families and offering support and guidance as needed, overseeing new teacher and school leadership recruitment and formation, and monitoring overall efforts of diocesan Catholic education to ensure fidelity to the mission of the Church. This position will work closely with the Superintendent of Catholic Schools to carry out this ministerial and formational role supporting Catholic education within the Diocese of Portland.  

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, experience with homeschooling, and possess a mature, firsthand understanding and experience of the Roman Catholic Church.
