A jubilee year happens every 25 years in the Catholic Church. Bishop Ruggieri will celebrate an opening Mass at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception at 10 a.m.

Bishop Ruggieri will preside at the installation of Father Robert Lupo as pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish at 6 p.m.

Bishop Ruggieri will celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception at 12:15 p.m. at the Cathedral.

Embracing a tradition that dates to 19th century England, the Portland Peninsula & Island Parishes will present Advent Lessons & Carols on Friday, December 12, at 7 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 307 Congress Street in Portland. Bishop Emeritus Robert Deeley will preside. 

Stella Maris Parish will present "The Way of the Star," a journey with Mary and the Magi on Thursday, December 11, at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Bucksport.

A Mass of Comfort for those who have experienced a loss, whether of a loved one, a job, health, or a pet, etc., will be held at the Christian Life Center in Frenchville on October 29 at 6 p.m.  All are welcome.

The 27th Northern Maine Catholic Men's Retreat will be held April 10-12 at the Christian Life Center in Frenchville. Sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, the theme of the retreat is "One in Christ, United in Mission."

The St. Luce Repair Committee presents the 2nd annual Festival of Wreaths on Saturday, November 22, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, November 23, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Frenchville Community Center, 343A U.S. Route One in Frenchville.
