Bishop Ruggieri announces new priest assignment in the Diocese of Portland
Reverend Cyprian Tatah Ferdzefer has been appointed as administrator for Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish in Lincoln, which includes St. Mary of Lourdes Church in Lincoln, St. Leo the Great Church in Howland, and St. Anne Church in Danforth, effective October 24, 2024. Fr. Ferdzefer has served as parochial vicar for the the Portland Peninsula and Island Parishes since August of 2023.
Prior to his arrival in Maine, he served as pastor of St. Patrick Catholic Church in St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands beginning in 2022. He was also rector of Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral in St. Thomas from 2021-2022. Most of Fr. Ferdzefer's priestly ministry was in his native Diocese of Kumbo in Cameroon, where he held many positions including most recently as a member of the Provincial Commission for Catechetics and Pastoral Affairs of the Ecclesiastical Province of Bamenda, parish priest of St. Joseph the Worker Parish Djottin, Catholic Education Secretary for the Diocese of Kumbo, and parish priest of Meluf. Following his ordination in 1993, Fr. Ferdzefer served in a number of parish, diocesan and academic roles.
