A Statement from Bishop Ruggieri on the Events in Pennsylvania

To all people of Maine of goodwill, I ask that you please join with me in praying for the recovery of President Trump and all those injured at the rally in Pennsylvania last evening. Let us pray for the souls who died and for comfort for their loved ones who now mourn their deaths. I also thank God for the valor of the women and men who immediately responded to the shooting to ensure the safety of those present. The evil of political violence must stop. Please let us pray for peace, civility, and a greater respect for human life in our nation.
