Sister Rita Bourassa, OSU

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Sr. Rita Bourassa, OSU, who passed away on  Wednesday, January 20. Sister was a teacher and principal at Ursuline Academy in Dedham for many years. She also served in many offices within the community including provincial, treasurer, secretary.  Sister turned 90 in July, and one of her goals was to reach 70 years of religious profession which happened on January 16.

Sister Rita grew up in Lewiston, where she attended St. Mary's Elementary School. She attended high school at Mount Merici Academy in Waterville. She entered the Ursuline Sisters of the Northeast in 1943 and made her vows in 1946.

The wake for Sr. Rita will be on Wednesday, January 27 (Feast of St. Angela) at 10:a.m. at the Chapel at St. Mary’s Residence, 100 Campus Ave, Lewiston ME.  The funeral mass will follow at 11 a.m.

Please remember Sisters Rita's religious and natural families as they mourn the loss of a loved one, a friend and a faithful religious.

May her soul and the soul of all the faithful departed rest in peace.  Amen.
