Sister Mary Garrett, RSM

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Sr. Mary Garrett, RSM, 95, who died on Sunday, November 13, 2016.

Sister Mary Garrett, a native of Houlton, was a nurse by profession and a religious by vocation.  As a Sister of Mercy for 73 years, she served at Madigan Memorial Hospital in Houlton, as the resident nurse for the Passamaquoddy people at St. Ann’s Pleasant Point, on Andros Island in the Bahamas before returning to the Mother House on Stevens Avenue, where she cared for the elderly and sick sisters of the community..  She retired from nursing in 1992 but continued to serve the community in many ways as well as volunteering at the Osteopathic Hospital in Pastoral Care, as Eucharistic Minister at Mercy Hospital and in helping at the Good Cause Thrift Shop.  

Please keep in prayer Sister’s families, natural and religious, and all those she leaves behind. May her soul and the soul of all the faithful departed rest in peace.  Amen
