Sister Patricia Veale

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Sister Patricia Veale, a Carmelite Sister, who died June 13, 2017, at the age of 90.  Sister Patricia was born in West Medford, Massachusetts, in 1926. She attended Girls Catholic High School in the neighboring town of Malden and then Regis College in Weston, MA.   After receiving her degree, she became a teacher in Medford before entering the monastery of Discalced Carmelite Nuns in Concord, NH, in 1950. She and two other nuns, seeking a more solitary lifestyle, received permission in 1965 to move to Maine, where they built a small monastery in Orland, which was later relocated to Ellsworth.
 
Sister Patricia was predeceased by her brother, William.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, June 17, at St. Vincent de Paul Church of Stella Maris Parish, Bucksport.

Please keep Sister Patricia and her religious community in your prayers. May her soul and the soul of all the faithful departed rest in peace.  Amen
