Sister Claire Lepage, CSJ
Please pray for the repose of the soul of Sister Claire Lepage, CSJ, who died Wednesday, July 23, at the age of 78.
Sister Claire was born in Lewiston in 1941, the daughter of Arthur and Paula Lepage. She attended St. Louis School in Auburn and Holy Family School in Lewiston, before graduating from Lewiston High School.
Sister Claire entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Lyons 60 years ago, taking final vows in 1967. She continued her studies at St. Joseph's College of Maine in Standish and then at The Catholic University in Washington, D.C.
Sister's Claire's many years in ministry included teaching at Sacred Heart School in Auburn, Holy Family School in Lewiston, and St. Dominic High School. In 1970, she began mission work in Brazil, where she served for 27 years. When she returned to Maine, she continued her ministry in the Lewiston-Auburn area, serving in many capacities, including as a hospice volunteer, the province's international justice and peace coordinator, and as a vocation coordinator, among other positions.
