Nationally acclaimed speaker to offer presentation in Brewer for teens and young adults

St. Paul the Apostle Parish, with the support of the Diocese of Portland, is pleased to welcome Lisa Cotter, a nationally acclaimed Catholic speaker and author, to the Bangor/Brewer area on Saturday, November 11, 2023. 

During the first of two events, Cotter will present a talk for teens and young adults in the St. Joseph Church Hall, 531 North Main Street in Brewer, from 2:30-3:30 p.m. The title of the talk is "God's got a plan, but what is it?" Authentic happiness is found in following God's plan for our lives, but in a world full of options, how are we supposed to know what God wants? In this presentation, Cotter will guide the audience through the process of discovering God’s will, followed by examples of how she failed to discern properly in her own dating mishaps. There is no cost to attend, and refreshments will be provided. Please call the parish office at 207-217-6740 to register. Following the presentation, Holy Mass will be celebrated at 4 p.m. at St. Joseph Church.

On the evening of November 11, Cotter will speak at Advent by Candlelight at St. John Church Hall in Bangor. This event is already fully booked.

Cotter is known for her practical insights on relationships, femininity, and living life with excellence. After having served as a Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS) missionary family for more than 10 years, Cotter continues to share her passion for the faith with Catholics around the world. She is the author of Reveal the Gift: Living the Feminine Genius and Dating Detox: 40 Days of Perfecting Love in an Imperfect World. Her work has been featured on Ascension Presents, the Hallow App, EWTN, and Formed.org, as well as at Steubenville youth conferences, the SEEK conference, and through numerous other outlets.
