Midcoast Tree Festival Set to Open in Brunswick

The Midcoast Tree Festival, a fundraiser for All Saints Parish, the Bath-Brunswick Regional Chamber, and Spectrum Generations, will return to the St. John’s Community Center at 43 Pleasant Street in Brunswick during the weekends of November 22 - 24 and November 29 – December 1.

The festival, which is presented this year by Hammond Lumber, features more than 50 beautifully decorated and themed trees donated by businesses and organizations in and around the Midcoast area. The public are invited to view the trees and purchase raffle tickets for chances to win them and all the gifts on them. Each of the trees is valued at $500 or more. There is also the "Mega Tree," an oversized Christmas tree donated by Priority Real Estate Group, which includes more than 50 gifts and goodies.

The festival also features musical performances, including an opening concert by the St. John's Catholic School Choir, crafts, a gingerbread house decorating competition, a hot cocoa bar presented by the Knights of Columbus, and more!

Festival Dates and Times

Friday, November 22, 2024 - 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with opening concert at 4 p.m. by the St. John's Catholic School Choir

Saturday, November 23 and Sunday, November 24 - 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Friday, November 29, 10 a.m. to  7 p.m.

Saturday, November 20, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Sunday, December 1, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Schedule of Events

Doors will open Friday, November 22 at 4 p.m. with a performance by St. John’s Catholic School Choir.

Between 5 – 8 p.m. on opening night only, there will be a gingerbread house decorating competition sponsored by Anderson Green Homes. Limited to 30 participants, all supplies will be provided. Registration is free but is required. Gingerbread houses will remain at the festival for guests to vote on throughout the first event-weekend with prizes awarded to the top three favorite gingerbread houses.

There will also be youth arts and crafts activities will be offered daily between 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Guests will enjoy daily concessions and hot cocoa bar provided by the Brunswick Knights of Columbus Sekenger Council 1947 and a robust bake sale courtesy of St. John’s Catholic School.

A range of entertainers will participate at various times throughout the two-weekend event including Your Caricature (character drawings), the Mt. Ararat Middle School Chorus, Hark: A Duo, The Great Stephan (magician and balloon artist), and Dennis Doiran and the St. Mary’s Choir.

A visit from Santa will conclude festivities on Sunday, December 1, at 11 a.m.

Cost

The entry fee is $2 per person, with no charge for children under the age of 12. Entry fees are cash only. Raffle tickets are .50 each and can be purchased with cash or credit.

The Midcoast Tree Festival is a fundraiser that supports the programs and services of Spectrum Generations including Meals on Wheels; All Saints Parish in Brunswick, which includes seven churches in the Midcoast region; and the Bath-Brunswick Regional Chamber's “Chamber Works 2030” program, which focuses on education, workforce development, hiring needs, and other key issues that affect those living and working within the Midcoast region.
