Advent and Christmas Fairs and Festivals planned at Catholic churches and schools across Maine

Nearly 25 parishes and schools around Maine are holding Advent and Christmas fairs in November and early December. The fairs are wonderful community events as well as valuable fundraisers that support church ministries and school programs. Below, you will find a list of fairs around the Diocese of Portland, listed chronologically. All are welcome at any fair. November 4

Auburn
The Saint Dominic Academy Holiday Festival will be held Saturday, November 4, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., on the middle and high school campus, 121 Gracelawn Road in Auburn.

Brunswick
The Snowflake Festival will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 132 McKeen Street in Brunswick, on November 4, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Kittery
St. Raphael Church’s Christmas Bazaar will be held November 4, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the church, located at 6 Whipple Road in Kittery.

Westbrook
St. Anthony of Padua Parish will hold a Christmas Crafts Fair on November 4, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the hall of St. Hyacinth Church, 268 Brown Street in Westbrook.

November 5

Sanford
St. Thomas School will hold a crafts and vendor fair on November 5, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the Memorial Gym, 678 Main Street in Sanford.

November 11

Bath
The Bells of St. Mary’s Christmas Craft Fair and café will be held November 11, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at St. Mary Church, 144 Lincoln Street in Bath.

Dexter
Our Lady of the Snows Parish will hold a Christmas craft fair on November 11, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the St. Anne Church Hall, 64 Free Street in Dexter. 

Gorham
St. Anne Church, part of St. Anthony of Padua Parish, will host a Christmas Crafts Fair on November 11, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Hallowell
The Sacred Heart Ladies Guild Christmas Fair will be held November 11, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the hall of Sacred Heart Church, 5 Summer Street in Hallowell.

Kennebunk
The Holy Spirit Parish Christmas Fair will be held November 11, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and November 12, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at St. Martha Church, 30 Portland Road in Kennebunk. 

Old Town
The Red Sleigh Bazaar will be held November 11, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the hall of Holy Family Church, 429 Main Street in Old Town.

Portland
The St. Louis Parish Christmas Fair will be held Saturday, November 11, 9 am. to 2 p.m., at St. Louis Church, 279 Danforth Street in Portland. 

November 12

Kennebunk
The Holy Spirit Parish Christmas Fair will be held November 11, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and November 12, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at St. Martha Church, 30 Portland Road in Kennebunk. 

November 17

Brunswick
The 5th Midcoast Tree Festival will be held at the St. John’s Community Center, 43 Pleasant Street in Brunswick, November 17-19 and November 24-26. The grand opening will be November 17, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The festival will then be held November 18 & 19 and November 24 & 25, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and will conclude on November 26, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

November 18

Auburn
The Christmas by the Lake Fair will be held November 18, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at St. Philip Church, 2365 Turner Road in Auburn. 

Augusta
The St. Michael School Christmas Fair will be held on November 18, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the school gymnasium, 56 Sewall Street in Augusta.

Brewer
The St. Paul the Apostle Parish Christmas Fair will be held on November 18, 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at St. Joseph Church on 531 North Main Street in Brewer. 

Brunswick
The 5th Midcoast Tree Festival will be held at the St. John’s Community Center, 43 Pleasant Street in Brunswick, November 17-19 and November 24-26. The grand opening will be November 17, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The festival will then be held November 18 & 19 and November 24 & 25, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and will conclude on November 26, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Jay
The St. Rose Christmas Fair will be held on November 18, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the St. Rose Community Center on Church Street in Jay.

Newcastle
St. Patrick Church of All Saints Parish, 380 Academy Hill Road in Newcastle, will hold its Christmas Fair on November 18, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

Rumford
The Parish of the Holy Savior Christmas Fair will be held on November 18, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at St. Athanasius & St. John Church, 126 Maine Avenue in Rumford. 

Sabattus
The Our Lady of the Rosary Christmas Craft Fair will be held November 18, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the lower level of the church, 131 High Street in Sabattus.

York
The St. Christopher Church Holiday Fair will be held November 18, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., in the church hall at 4 Barrell Lane in York.

November 19, 24-26

Brunswick

The grand opening will be November 17, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The festival will then be held November 18 & 19 and November 24 & 25, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and will conclude on November 26, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

November 25

Limerick
St. Matthew Parish will hold a holiday craft fair on November 25, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Matthew Church, 19 Dora Lane in Limerick

November 26

Berwick
The Our Lady of the Angels Penny Sale will be held November 26 at Noble Middle School, 46 Cranberry Meadow Road in Berwick. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. Drawings start at 3:30 p.m.

December 1 & 2

Portland
Our Lady of Hope Parish in Portland will hold its Festival of Trees on December 1 and 2 in the hall of St. Pius X Church, 492 Ocean Avenue in Portland. People can stop by to view the trees and to buy raffle tickets to win them on Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The festival will also include a meat pie supper at 5 p.m. on Friday and a Christmas concert at 6:30 p.m. by St. Brigid School students. On Saturday, kids can enjoy breakfast with Santa at 8 a.m. There will then be cookies and ornaments for sale and games of chance, with lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The festival will conclude at 7 p.m. with a live auction, which will include hors d’oeuvres, wine and beer, and live music.  

December 2

Farmington
The St. Joseph Parish Winter Festival will be held at the St. Joseph Parish Center, 133 Middle Street in Farmington, on December 2, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Proceeds benefit St. Joseph Parish Social Ministry.

Portland
Cheverus High School will hold a Holiday Craft Fair on December 2,  9 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the gym and atrium of Cheverus at 267 Ocean Avenue in Portland. The fair supports the Cheverus Service Immersion trips and celebrates a vibrant community and local small businesses.

Yarmouth
The Parish of the Holy Eucharist’s Advent Fair will be held December 2, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Sacred Heart Church, 326 Main Street in Yarmouth. The fair will feature handcrafted items, a children’s table, vintage collectibles, baked goods, holiday decorations, jewelry, a raffle, and a luncheon café.
