Parish Mission in Houlton with Father Bill Garrott, OP
Father Bill Garrott, OP, will lead a parish mission at St. Mary of the Visitation Church in Houlton from September 17-19. The mission will begin each night at 5:30 p.m. with the praying of the Rosary, followed by a talk at 6 p.m., and then the opportunity for the sacrament of reconciliation.
The topics of the talks will be:
Sunday, September 17 – “Where is your faith?
Monday, September 18 – “Are you right to be angry?” focusing on the emotion, the virtue, and the sin of anger in light of the polarized culture in which we live.
Tuesday September 19, “Take away the stone!” focusing on the power of the Risen Lord to heal us and make us participants in God’s great rescue mission of mercy.
Father Garrott is originally from Hagerstown, Maryland. He entered the Order of Preachers (the Dominicans) in 1988 and was ordained in 1994. He has a master’s degree in spiritual theology from the Angelicum in Rome and has served a parochial vicar, campus minister, and director of vocations. A gifted speaker and musician, Father Garrott has led more than 200 parish missions across the United States.
