Opening Pilgrim Mass & Blessing

Sunday, July 19 from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM

Pope Leo XIV has proclaimed a special Jubilee Year of Saint Francis, running from January 10, 2026, to January 10, 2027, to mark the 800th anniversary of the saint’s passing into eternal life. Bishop Ruggieri has designated St. Mary of the Visitation Parish in Houlton as one of three sites in Maine that have been named a holy site for this Jubilee.  Pilgrims who come to us in prayer may receive the graces of the year, and we have a joyful opportunity to open our doors wide.

Please join us for the Opening Pilgrim Mass and Blessing to mark the beginning of the Jubilee which will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Visitation on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at 11:00am.  Please note, that there will be one Mass at St. Mary’s on that morning – there will be no 8am and 10:30am Masses.

11:00am – Jubilee Year Mass of St. Francis

After Mass - 12:00-1:30pm – Light refreshments and brief presentation to follow in St. Anthony’s Hall
