Internal Auditor

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland seeks a relationship-oriented Internal Auditor to support parishes, schools, and cemeteries throughout Maine. This position conducts financial and compliance audits, evaluates internal controls, prepares audit reports, and serves as a trusted resource to parish and school business managers. The Internal Auditor works closely with diocesan leadership to strengthen financial stewardship and support the mission of the Church.

Qualified candidates will have at least five years of experience in public accounting, internal auditing, or nonprofit finance; strong knowledge of GAAP, auditing standards, and internal controls; excellent communication and organizational skills; and the ability to travel up to 50% within Maine. A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is required. Practicing Catholic preferred.
