Family Service Advisor

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland is seeking a caring, compassionate, and service-oriented Family Service Advisor (FSA) to help individuals and families with cemetery, burial, and memorialization planning. Reporting to the Manager of Family Services, the Family Service Advisor works closely with families who are making arrangements following the loss of a loved one, as well as those planning ahead for future needs. This role is an opportunity to provide comfort, guidance, and support while helping families understand their options in accordance with the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church. Through a combination of personal service, education, and relationship building, the FSA helps families make informed decisions with confidence and peace of mind.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, communicates with empathy and professionalism, and is comfortable helping families through important life decisions. Responsibilities include meeting with families to discuss burial and memorialization options, coordinating with funeral homes and monument companies, maintaining accurate records, following up with leads and referrals, and participating in parish and community outreach activities. A background in customer service, sales, or another people-focused profession is helpful, along with strong organizational and computer skills. This position offers meaningful, mission-driven work in a faith-based environment, with opportunities to earn commission in addition to the annual base salary. 

Base pay: $19.23 per hour ($40,000 annually) plus commission on sales. A comprehensive benefits package is included.
