Upcoming Intercessions

The following intercessions are provided for your use to support the development of vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life in our diocese. They are keyed to the liturgical calendar. Please consider including them in your mass intentions.

The Epiphany -- January 7, 2024

That our young people will be open to their unique vocation through prayer and will adore Christ the King by their faithfulness to His call, we pray to the Lord.

The Baptism of the Lord -- January 8, 2024

That all those initiated by baptism to be followers of Christ may discern and live out the vocation to which Christ is calling them, we pray to the Lord.

Second Sunday in Ordinary Time -- January 14, 2024 

That every Catholic will actively seek out their calling in Christ and work to strengthen his kingdom, especially those chosen to lead as priests or consecrated brothers or sisters, we pray to the Lord.

Third Sunday in Ordinary Time -- January 21, 2024

For an increase in fishers of men and for a deeper gratitude for the priests and religious now serving our diocese, we pray to the Lord. 

Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time – January 28, 2024 (World Day for Consecrated Life – February 2)

For those consecrated to God by the vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience, that they may seek to live their baptismal promises more intensely and have the grace to persevere in their commitment to the Lord, we pray to the Lord. 

Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time -- February 4, 2024 

That all those discerning or pursuing a vocation to the priesthood or consecrated life will find encouragement through our prayers and sacrifices on their behalf, we pray to the Lord. 

Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time -- February 11, 2024 - World Marriage Day

That the Holy Spirit will be the guiding force in every marriage and lead spouses to protect and pray for each other every day, we pray to the Lord. 

First Sunday of Lent -- February 18, 2024 

That prayer, penance and almsgiving will enable more men and women to follow the Holy Spirit as He leads them to discover their vocations in Christ, we pray to the Lord. 

Second Sunday of Lent February 25, 2024 

That those the Lord is calling to be a priest or consecrated brother or sister will listen to Him, and proclaim His name, we pray to the Lord. 

Third Sunday of Lent March 3, 2024 

For those considering a call to the priesthood or consecrated life, that they will answer the call and proclaim Christ crucified, we pray to the Lord. 

Fourth Sunday of Lent – March 10, 2024 

That we may have faithful priests and consecrated brothers and sisters to guide us just as Jesus was the light that came into the world, we pray to the Lord. 

Fifth Sunday of Lent – March 17, 2024 

For all those being called to the priesthood and consecrated life, that they may deepen their faith in Christ who calls them to glorify God in a profoundly personal way through their vocations, we pray to the Lord. 

Palm Sunday of the Lord's Passion – March 24, 2024

For the faithful response of all men and women called to follow Christ and His passion through a vocation to the priesthood or consecrated life, we pray to the Lord.

Easter Sunday – March 31, 2024

That more men and women will joyfully answer the call of the Lord to proclaim his life, death and resurrection as priests and religious brothers and sisters, we pray to the Lord.

Second Sunday of Easter (Divine Mercy Sunday) -- April 7, 2024  (Uplift your Priest starts April 8.)

For all our priests whom God has sent in the name of Jesus to serve the people, that they are blessed with continued faithfulness to Him and inspire many more to consider a vocation to the priesthood, we pray to the Lord.

Third Sunday of Easter -- April 14, 2024

For an increased awareness among our young people of the closeness of the Lord while they discern their vocation, we pray to the Lord.

Fourth Sunday of Easter -- April 21, 2024 - World Day of Prayer for Vocations

For an increase in vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life for our Church and that God will raise up good shepherds in our midst, we pray to the Lord.

Fifth Sunday of Easter – April 28, 2024 – Religious Brothers Day – May 1st

That men boldly and courageously accept Jesus’ call to religious life as a brother, we pray to the Lord.

Sixth Sunday of Easter -- May 5, 2024

For a deeper faith, hope, and love among all, especially those He is calling to serve as a priest or religious sister, we pray to the Lord.

Seventh Sunday of Easter -- May 12, 2024

That, seated at the right hand of His Father in heaven, the Lord will share His wisdom with those discerning their vocation and open their eyes and hearts in faithfulness, we pray to the Lord.

Pentecost Sunday – May 19, 2024

For an increased devotion to the Holy Spirit among our young people, as He leads them in their prayerful discernment to discover their vocation in Christ, we pray to the Lord.

Most Holy Trinity – May 26, 2024

That the mystery of the love of the Blessed Trinity will strengthen many men and women to respond to that love as priests and religious brothers and sisters, we pray to the Lord.

Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ – June 2, 2024 (World Priest Day - June 7)

That all Catholics will adore the great gift of the Holy Eucharist given to them by Jesus Christ through the hands of His priests and that those chosen as priests will inspire many more to follow Him, we pray to the Lord.

That those called to serve the Lord and His people as priests will be blessed with holy zeal, we pray to the Lord.
