Communications

It is the mission of the Roman Catholic Diocese Office of Communications to employ newspaper, television, radio, magazine and other print publications (including parish bulletin inserts and brochures), as well as the Internet and social media to present and protect the Good News of Jesus Christ and the work of the Church. Through these multiple platforms, diocesan parishes, Maine Catholic Schools and other Catholic groups and programs are promoted to showcase the Catholic community’s positive impact on Maine from Kittery to Fort Kent, from Jackman to Machias.

The Communications Office coordinates all official communications to the public on Church matters. This is accomplished through our diocesan website and by maintaining relationships with all media outlets. We advise the various diocesan offices on their communication methods and needs and the office also assists in the preparation and distribution of the diocesan directory of personnel and services.

The communications director serves as the spokesperson for the Diocese. This office also facilitates internal communications between the Bishop's Office and parishes and schools, clergy and the laity, and organizes a variety of Masses and events throughout the state each year.
