ABIDE Middle School Day of Reflection

"Remain in me, as I remain in you. Just as a branch cannot bear its own fruit unless it remains on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me." (John 15:4-5).

Jesus Calls us to ABIDE in him; he is the vine, and we are the branches. Through Scripture and the Eucharist, we encounter Christ in a special way.

As we celebrate the season of Advent, how do we prepare ourselves for Christ to abide in our lives? ABIDE days of reflection provide an opportunity for middle school students in Grades 6-8 to explore that question through activities, faith sharing, prayer, and more.

“We invite middle school students to take a day to discover what it truly means to abide in Jesus,” said Shawn Gregory, coordinator of youth ministry for the Diocese of Portland. “By knowing and loving him, we are better able to serve him.”

Youths interested in attending should register through their parish youth leaders or faith formation directors.
